Hmm.. I should start doing that. I agree that it’s part of travel with kids. I can only speak from Asia where I came from that we did have more sympathy to parents with young children. I think we know that they are kids and they cry.

Meltdowns? What!

When this happens I always have to remind myself that we get meltdowns at home too. They’re no better… and then I’m stuck at home with them instead of someplace terrific

You’re right about people being more sympathetic abroad. I’m always surprised about how intolerant people are here in the states… and how they immediately make it about your parenting. The fact is that two year olds & three year olds sometimes just get overwhelmed & can’t control themselves.

CanCan, you are so right about the sympathy you get in Asia. I realized watching another toddler meltdown in Hong Kong that parenting in America is a lot harder than other places in the world.

Poor dear. We have had plenty of these moments ourselves. Luckily in my experience in Asia, most people are sympathetic and not judgmental or hateful about toddler meltdowns like they are in the states!
