Are you thinking “grooosssss!” or “it’s nice to talk about poo not belonging to my child for a change?”
Last weekend, Mirielle went on her first long road trip. After dropping our dog at a country kennel in Petaluma, Sonoma county, we drove through Sonoma and Napa to link up with the interstate. We noticed lots of birds circling about and as you can see, they noticed us, too. It took a couple of minutes, but then it became clear. Napa birds live large, enjoying the bounty of the famous land and pooing the nectar of the gods.
Today I am headed up for my first, post baby, all girls, no kids weekend in Napa. (Mirielle is almost two.) It will include a stay at the new Westin condos in Oxbow, three Michelin star-rated meals, a spa day, and lots of wine tasting. Don’t worry, I’ll report on all the delicious details as well as last week’s roadtrip when I get back.
Note: I am participating in DeliciousBaby’s super cool Photo Fridays, where everyone is invited to link to a travel photo. Please click here to see more of this week’s photos & stories.

Love it! Wine poo – I think I have been victimized by those same birds in Napa and Sonoma. Was it extra-special-difficult to remove?
We get the same effect around here (metro Detroit) from birds who eat various berries from the trees. Makes a mess on my bright yellow car sometimes…
This is too funny! I had no idea birds could poo wine!
hilarious.
when we drove through Montana, we renamed it the “bug sky state” (I’m sure we weren’t the first) but this is way more funny.
“wine poo” – just too funny!
I’m only wishing my children weren’t in bed – they would think this was the funniest thing ever.
I hope you have a great weekend! Sounds divine.
That is funny! Some how we have managed to drive through Napa, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Alsace, Chianti and more without any bird wine poo.
LOL, never knew what we were missing!
Have a relaxing weekend!
still laughing! hope you had a great time!!
That’s hilarious! I don’t think I would want to drink it though.
