I'm Greek but my skin doesn't know it. My kids seem like they have the same skin. They fought me every day on the sunscreen! I tried a zinc powder sunscreen on them called GOscreen. It's similar to the Colorscience you mentioned but it's half the price.

The Sunscreen Myth -
The idea that sunscreen prevents cancer is a myth. It's a myth promoted by a profit-seeking tag-team effort between the cancer industry and the sunscreen industry. The sunscreen industry makes money by selling lotion products that actually contain cancer-causing chemicals. It then donates a portion of that money to the cancer industry through non-profit groups like the American Cancer Society which, in turn, run heart-breaking public service ads urging people to use sunscreen to "prevent cancer."

We tried the new nuetrogena & my 4yo had a terrible reaction after 2nd day of use. My gut tells me it's whatever makes it waterproof. Going to try vanicream. Burts bees works but its a horrendous consistency.
Thanks for the info!

I recently did a similar review and tested TONS of chemical free sunscreens. For a while I didn't think I was going to find one that didn't stink or feel awful on the skin.

But, we really like Safe Baby (lotion) from SKIN by Monica Olsen (www.skinbymonica.com)...no chalky feel, sticky residue or harsh chemicals. Then we use Mad Gab's (www.madgabs.com) face stick, which is also all natural.

Thanks for this fantastic testing and list... I'm a redhead with a redhead and he's outside all day long. My other boy has two injuries on his face and we need to keep applying sunscreen to prevent scarring.

Great site! I'm wondering if you've check out California Baby products? I have an 8-month-old redhead, and we're trying to figure out the best thing to use on him this summer. I'll be trying the Neutrogena baby screen as well.

I just found a great new chemical-free sunscreen for kids. Titanium and Zinc actives, no parabens, phtalates or fragrance and it rubs in much easier than vanicream and no tacky residue. I guess it was developed by a pediatric dermatologist and the packaging is super cute. My sun loves the little bird. It's called Dr. Robin for kids and I bought it at my dermatologist office. It's $20 for 3.5 oz. and it looks like they have a website where you can buy it too.
