My favorite Winter Olympic memory is when Nancy Kerrigan won silver in the 1994 Olympics when they didn't know if she would be able to compete - I was just so excited to see her succeed despite her injuries!!

I'll never forget New Year's Eve on Sun Peaks in British Columbia with the kids. After resting in our hotel room following a day of outdoor fun, we dressed in snow gear yet again, gathered near the 'village', and listened to music from heavy-duty speakers. At the right time, after dark, a large group of skiers came down the mountain, each holding a bright light. The air was cold, the sky was black, and we were all glad to be there! I'm sure that directly after this New Year's commemoration, the young adults in the crowd hit the night spots, but we parents went to the ice cream shop, then to bed!
